Embracing Health and Wellness in the Heart of Asia
The Department of Tourism, backed by the country’s key players from both government and private sector promoting health and wellness tourism, hosted a gathering of experts was a virtual Who’s Who in the fields of Western medicine; the international spa industry, alternative medicine; the integrative and total wellness movements; and the global medical tourism industry.
The summit was the biggest medical tourism and wellness summit in Asia was held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila from October 22-25 with the theme, “Embracing Health and Wellness in the Heart of Asia.”
The summit’s aims was to showcase the Philippines to the rest of the world as a provider of world-class, globalized health care, with excellent quality, patient safety.
Pushing the country’s bid to be the preferred globalized healthcare destination in Asia, The Department of Tourism, (DOT), led by Health and Wellness Tourism Usec. Cynthia carrion, has forged unity and cooperation among stakeholders of the burgeoning health and wellness tourism industry at the recently concluded Philippine Health and Wellness Tourism Summit 2008.
