Driven by its goal of instilling the principles of continuous quality improvement within
the organization, the Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI) headed by Ms. Lolita C. Gonzales, organized a "CQI Training of Trainors" for the supervisory group. The main objectives of the training were to know and accept one's role in the organization's quality improvement program and to be able to learn and apply CQI methods and tools in addressing quality issues in ones' department.
The training sessions were held last July 30 and September 4, 2010 at the CMC 12th Floor Auditorium from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The first day of training was a lecture on the practical application of CQI tools and how to integrate in the daily work; while the second day was a workshop wherein all the 40 participants were divided into five groups and tasked to present a potential quality improvement project using the appropriate CQI tools and methods.
Overall, the training was challenging and fulfilling as it left the supervisors with an
opportunity to explore how they can do even better in improving their respective departments. As Ms. Beth Vargas, the Resource Speaker has shared, CQI means "Do it better, make it better, and improve even if not broken". |
