In keeping with the tradition of excellence in the delivery of total quality healthcare, the Department of OB-GYN of Capitol Medical Center offers total healthcare center for women consisting of Reproductive, Endocrinology & Infertility, Menopause Management, Hysteroscopy, Cancer Clinic (Colposcopy, Comprehensive Cancer Check for women, Sonomammogram, Breast Ultrasound), Infectious Disease Clinic and High-Risk Obstetrical care highlighted by continuous surveillance of would-be mother and fetus complete with fetal monitor.
The Ob-Gyn Department aims to provide continuing and advanced reproductive health, through accessible, attainable and affordable health care delivery systems. It believes in the principle that reproductive health begins in the womb and ends in the tomb.

The department has board-certified general Ob-Gyn practitioners who regularly update themselves on continuing education in the specialty.
It’s out-patient and emergency sections provide updated ambulatory Ob-Gyn services under the supervision of qualified and available consultants. It has subspecialty sections in perinatal care (high - risk unit), reproductive endocrinology and infertility, menopause, adolescence, oncology, endoscopy, ultrasound and urogynecology. These subspecialties are manned by qualified and competent Obstetrician-Gynecologists who had undergone extensive trainings.
The High Risk Pregnancy Unit caters to high risk pregnant mothers and their fetuses, women who are infertile and with gynecologic problems. It has a 2-bed maternal unit equipped with both maternal and fetal monitors. A portable ultrasound machine is readily on hand to check fetal status. High-risk pregnant women admitted to this section are closely monitored by a Primatologist, Resident Doctor and Nurses trained in the subspecialty of Maternal Fetal Medicine.
The Labor / Birthing Room is designed for maximum comfort. Theroom provides the most modern medical equipment and hand in hand with best trained doctors, ensure the safest, and painless deliveries. To make the experience more memorable, the husband and fathers-to-be can be present during delivery with their wives and during recovery with their newborn. Equipped with fully automatic birthing bed, piped-in oxygen and fetal monitors. Room amenities include table, TV, telephone, refrigerator, dining table and sofa bed.
Minimally Invasive Surgery / Laparoscopy probably is the most common surgical procedure performed as part of the infertility evaluation and generally regarded as the definite test for the evaluation of tubal factors. It is usually performed under general anesthesia and involves the thorough exploration of the pelvis organs (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and peritoneal surfaces) and documentation of tubal patency.
Hysteroscopy is performed at the hospital under conscious sedation or general anesthesia. In this setting operative procedures such as the removal of polyps, fibroids (submucosal) and scar tissue (adhesions) can be performed. In addition, operative hysteroscopy is performed for the treatment of a congenital malformation of the uterus called a septum. The Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy services aid in the over-all diagnosis and treatment of women.
The Ob-Gyn Ultrasound Section is fulfilling its commitment in providing quality healthcare by giving the best imaging technique needed by the woman in all stages. Our ultrasound examination uses the latest technology. The machines provide a wide range of imaging technology including 3D/4D/5D scanning capability. All of our ultrasound scans are carried out by the best Sonologists in the country. The facility is accredited by the Philippine Society of Ultrasound in Ob-Gyne (PSUOG).
The Digital Mammography uses computers and specially designed digital detectors to produce images that are displayed on a high-resolution computer monitor and stored like other computer files. The mammography remains the gold standard for screening early stage of breast cancer. It is the most imaging tool used in the detection of breast cancer for women over forty years.
The Breast Ultrasound is an imaging technique used to screen for tumors and other breast abnormalities. The ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce live images of the inside of the breast. Unlike X-ray and CT scans, Ultrasounds use no radiation and are considered safe for pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
