95 FRUITFUL YEARS LEAVING A LEGACY OF TENDER LOVING CARE

Dr. Thelma Navarrete-Clemente

TNC1October 11, 2016 marked the 95th birthday of CMC’s Founder and Chairman of the Board Dr. Thelma Navarrete-Clemente.  The celebration’s theme, “A MILLION THANKS” conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to her Creator, Family, Friends and Colleagues in the Medical Field not only for long life but for a meaningful journey making her an ICON in the healthcare industry.   Her smile manifested not   just happiness but most of all, fulfillment knowing that she was able to carry out her mission to make a difference in other peoples’ lives. While visitors were sharing their personal experiences with her during her heydays, she was a picture of a Celebrant beaming with pride and satisfaction, knowing, that she was able to impart her knowledge, expertise and service dedication to those around her and all these years, her efforts have paid off.

Barely 28 days after the grand celebration, Dr. TNC as she is fondly called drifted peacefully to join our Creator leaving behind a bereaved community and a bucket full of memories that will remain in the hearts of the people whose lives she has touched.  The CMC workforce mourned her demise, and gathered together to say their last goodbye during the funeral march to the North Cemetery. In trying to cope with the loss of our Beloved TNC the CMC family can’t help but reminisce the good old days when she was hands on, teaching the value of hard work to the employees and consistently reminding them to practice Good Manners through the Annual Meetings done every January. Her compassionate treatment to every patient is imbibed in the hearts of the Doctors and Nurses whom she has trained to render Tender Loving Care (TLC) to everyone regardless of their color and belief.

TNC2She did not content herself in realizing the CMC goals instead she spread her reach to the community to make sure that those with health issues are properly attended. She did not leave any stone unturned much more she tried to exhaust all possible means to achieve set goals taking CMC to greater heights. Popularly known as Lola to CMC’s Rank and File employees, TNC is oftentimes the Santa Claus at Christmas time who painstakingly initiates gift giving activities to Residents and Interns, Employees and those significant others who are in need.  With all the merits, awards and accomplishments she has received in her lifetime, she did not forget to appreciate the support of her people, to the extent of naming those who have played a vital role in all her projects. Busy as she could get, she never forgets special occasions/dates of celebration especially of the people who worked closely with her.  She embodies the totality of a WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE by being a mother, friend, counselor, mentor and a buddy in any group undertaking.  A Good Doctor, Role Model may be GONE leaving behind a legacy of KINDNESS, AND SERVICE EXCELLENCE.  Memories and good deeds etched in the hearts and mind of people will make her UNFORGETTABLE!
